A Living Will is a written declaration that directs for the providing, withholding, or withdrawal of life-prolonging procedures in the event that such person has a terminal condition, has an end-stage condition, or is in a persistent vegetative state.  If you have strong feelings regarding the use of life-prolonging procedures, then you should have a Living Will.  

 A health care surrogate is a written document designating a surrogate to make health care decisions for you if you are unable to make those decisions for yourself.  If you do not have a Designation of Health Care Surrogate, then Florida law will provide one for you and it may not be the person you would have chosen for yourself.  The Designation of Health Care Surrogate is an important part of any estate plan.
