Ellen Barnett began her law career with a Miami law firm where she concentrated in the areas of estate planning, probate and tax.  She later served as a corporate fiduciary with two prestigious national private trust companies administering estates and trusts.  She gained invaluable experience reviewing and administering hundreds of estate planning documents.  As such, she witnessed first-hand the effects of poor drafting and learned the common pitfalls that can be easily avoided.

Ellen Barnett now has her own law firm devoted primarily to estate planning, probate, wills, trusts, powers of attorney and advance health care directives.  Ellen Barnett regularly prepares estate plans of all complexities for varied clients including, but not limited to, young families with minor children, owners of large complex multistate businesses and non-US citizen spouses.  In addition, Ellen Barnett has handled the probate of small estates valued at less than $100,000, as well as large estates valued in the millions.  Ellen Barnett will also serve as Personal Representative, if needed, and will represent trustees and trust beneficiaries.

Ellen Barnett conducts educational seminars on topics ranging from basic estate planning to advanced estate planning topics such as Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, Family Limited Partnerships, Qualified Domestic Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, and charitable trusts.  She also conducts educational seminars on the topic of probate administration.
